What benefits have participants and contributors found from taking part in courses in The Netherlands?

Participants

During one of our residential courses a participant and a graduate joined forces to set up a China Cultural House in Amsterdam. One is an architect and the other the founder of Chinese Radio Netherlands.

After visiting a youth empowerment organization, several participants decided to give their time to give help the young people with interview training.

One of our private sector participants decided that he would place pupils from Amsterdam schools into internship positions within his organisation after a visit on a Common Purpose course.

During a visit to a refugee organisation, some of the refugees that theparticipants met were offered a job by members of the group on the spot! A further 6 entered application procedures.

When the participant groups in Amsterdam and Rotterdam got together, a group of them decided to collaborate on a project aimed at promoting diversity within the educational sector.

Contributors

One contributor from the creative sector is using the advice he gained from participants he met to improve health and safety procedures at more than 170 festivals a year which he co-ordinates.

Another, manager of a small business, got help writing a business plan for her new social enterprise which helped her to continue her work for marginalised youngsters.
