How did the Matrix course change the way a
Commercial Director of an International School in Leipzig,
Germany, makes connections within his local
community?
Clemens Gerteiser is the Commercial Director of the Leipzig
International School e.V. In his first year after moving to
Leipzig, Clemens took part in a Common Purpose course to help him
make connections in the city.
"It is much more than just a great networking opportunity. It
enables you to look at and consider different aspects of the
society and economy where you live and work, areas that you would
never get a chance to see and examine. You probably knew that they
were there but didn't know how they fitted into everything, for
example the part that - say - the prison plays in your
area.
Whereas beforehand I saw networking as something where
people get together and feel important, I now realise that it is
something that we all have to do if we want to make a
difference."
