As part of a module looking at "Passion & Resonance", participants on the first Common Purpose course in Bangalore, India visited M/S Conzerv, an energy conservation organisation. The visit inspired two employees of BOSCH Ltd, B.R.Shyam Prasad and Nagaraj Banaji, to develop an energy conservation project at their Bangalore plant.
"The project was an opportunity of testing our skills which we had developed at Common Purpose. [It] demanded a lot of drive by us across many ranges involving several departments which were not in our authority circle. We visited M/S Conzerv for a second time and saw a number of successful energy conservation projects in different industries across India.Though the planned meeting time was one hour we ended up spending the whole day!
"We have achieved a saving of 14 % of total energy consumption in heat treatment shops, amounting to 5.5 Million rupees annually. We thank Common Purpose for providing the contacts without which this project would not have been possible."
