Julie Billon-Grand

Julie is Course Manager for Common Purpose Customised. She initially joined Common Purpose in France in 2008 and then moved to Common Purpose Customised in early 2009.

Prior to Common Purpose, Julie worked one year as a trainee for The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Paris.

Julie studied politics at Sciences Po Toulouse (one of France's selective Grandes Ecoles) and holds a MA in Cross-cultural Communication and International Relations from Newcastle University.

Julie grew up in Asia (Indonesia and Thailand) and therefore embraced Common Purpose's idea of building bridges between cultures and people.

Recent experience includes:

  • Organisation of successful Quests to Lille (North of France), bringing together UK leaders and Lille stakeholders to debate on the importance of partnership working and collaboration.
  • Organisation and coordination of a two-day workshop for Chief Executives across the public sector in the sub-region of Cheshire and Warrington
  • Organisation of a five-day course for Arts professionals in Liverpool enabling them to collaborate effectively with leaders in other sectors and professions, particularly in the area of regeneration.
