Julia is Development Director for Common Purpose Customised.
Julia joined Common Purpose UK in 1997 - as a UK Operations
Director, she played a key role in the Senior Management Team.
Julia also led a number of courses across the country before moving
to focus on the development of Customised courses.
Prior to joining Common Purpose, Julia worked for NatWest where
her career spanned corporate and major corporate lending;
operations management, and heading up the UK Community Investment
team. Julia was also sponsored by NatWest to study for her MBA at
Warwick University achieving a Distinction.
Julia is an accomplished leader and facilitator with extensive
expertise in working with cross-sector and cross-cultural groups.
She has worked with a wide range of senior groups and partnerships
across the UK over a number of years.
Julia's other interests include civil society, whole systems
approaches and Appreciative Enquiry. She is a qualified coach.
Recent experience includes:
- A collaboration with a global professional services firm to
design and deliver a key element of their groundbreaking Leadership
Development Programme for senior partners
- The design and facilitation of a series of workshops for the
Senior Management Team and Extended Management Team of Sutton
Council to develop their Leadership Behaviour Framework
- The design and facilitation of a two-day workshop for Chief
Executives across the public sector in the sub-region of Cheshire
and Warrington to consider their positioning of the sub region in
the wider region and nationally
- Working with Be Birmingham, the city's Local Strategic
Partnership, to create a 5-day course for 98 leaders from across
the public, private and not for profit sectors. The objective
was to help those leaders to bring about the cultural and
behavioural changes needed for collaborative working with the
overall aim of increasing efficiency and delivering better
services.
