Joanna is Senior Course Manager for Common Purpose Customised.
Joanna joined Common Purpose in 2007. Before joining the Customised
team, she helped with the launch of Common Purpose in France and
India.
Prior to joining Common Purpose, Joanna worked for the French tour
operator Club Med as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director
and before that as a freelance interpreter and translator.
Joanna's keen interest in languages led her to study Translation
and Translation Techniques at Toulouse-Le Mirail University
(specialising in the subtitling of films), before completing a
European Masters in Conference Interpreting in 2005 at Westminster
University in London. She is fluent in English, French and
Spanish.
Joanna was born in Bradford to English parents, but spent most of
her childhood in Spain and later in France.
Recent Experience includes:
- Organisation of a Leadership Course for Zimbabweans in the
Diaspora including management of the recruitment process, finding
the contributors and speakers and coordinating the 4-day
course
- Organisation of the Get Connected programme for Muslim women
leaders in Yorkshire and the Humber
- Managing the administrative team supporting the delivery of
Total Place programme in Birmingham; a 5-day course for 98 leaders
from across the public, private and not for profit sectors run over
a two month period. This involved 14 course days with 100
contributors in venues across Birmingham.
