Description: Bradford is the fourth largest metropolitan District in the UK, with a population of around 500,000. It is a City with a strong heritage in manufacturing, was a leader in the industrial revolution and a lynch pin of the textile industry.

Bradford has shared the post-industrial decline of many Northern cities and is now trying to rebuild itself.

How does a city on the cusp of change perceive itself and how is it seen by others?

Can it rebuild a reputation by itself or should it look to act as a second city to its neighbour Leeds in a City Region?

You will be asked to consider how place brand and image is created and the role regeneration can play.

You will be given the opportunity to explore the theme openly and discuss these issues with fellow Common Purpose participants from Bradford and other areas and with external contributors.

We aim to take you out of your comfort zone and ask you to think about the real issues that need to be addressed in another region.
